Large Date variety.
This would be an ideal starter coin for the collector just beginning to gain confidence in the Southern gold market. It is more available than any pre-1850 Charlotte quarter eagle save for the 1847-C.
This piece presents nicely with good detail (save for some typical central weakness) and a decent amount of luster under rich natural golden color.
Only two PCGS/CAC EF45s have sold at auction: this one, and a coin sold back in April 2019.
Ex Legend 5/2021: 553 where it sold for $3,173.
CAC has approved three in this grade with 28 finer.
