This Civil War date tends to be found in the EF40 to AU55 range. It is usually seen with poor eye appeal and examples with natural color and choice surfaces are infrequently seen.
This evenly toned example show medium natural orange-gold and greenish hues with some deeper highlights. The surfaces are not especially lustrous but are very clean with an almost total absence of appreciable marks. The strike is blunt on the obverse stars and hair curls as always.
The last APR for an NGC AU53 example is Heritage 2/13: 4950 which brought $3,290.
