The 1850-O is comparable in rarity to the 1851-O and 1852-O but in my experience it is a bit harder to locate in the higher AU grade range, especially with nice surfaces and natural color.
This is a very high coin for the grade with attractive deep natural green-gold color on the obverse and the reverse. The strike s just a touch weak at the central reverse but this piece has enough body and luster to give it consideration at the AU58 level.
The last PCGS AU55 example to sell at auction was ex Stacks Bowers 1/13: 12598; it brought $1,293 and was not CAC approved. Only two PCGS AU55s have sold since March 2007 and none have had CAC approval.
CAC has approved three in this grade with 13 finer.
