Housed in an old green label PCGS holder; in my opinion, this coin grades MS62 by today's standards.
The 1900-S is the scarcest 20th century San Francisco issue of this type. It is not often seen above MS61 to MS62 and it is extremely rare in MS64 and finer.
This semi-reflective example shows rich natural yellow-gold color. The obverse has some light scuffs in the fields while the reverse is choice.
A CAC-approved PCGS MS61 1900-S eagle in a new generation holder sold for $1,175 as DLRC 5/16: 2331.
CAC has approved 4 in this grade and 4 finer.
