DESIRABLE GEM 1908 INDIAN HEAD HALF EAGLE, PCGS/CAC MS65

The 1908 Indian Head half eagle is a numismatically desirable as the first year of issue for the new Bela Lyon Pratt design. Gems are rare and always in demand among type collectors looking for  a single outstanding representation of this issue.

This exceptional Gem is notable for its choice surfaces which are covered with rich natural orange-gold. A tiny vertical spot on the reverse is a mint-made impurity which is not detracting. The coloration of this coin makes it very special and clearly PQ for the grade.

Non-CAC MS65 Indian Head half eagles have dropped to incredibly low levels (below $7,000 for average quality PCGS coins; down form $15,000+ around a decade ago) but CAC approved pieces remain in strong demand due to their scarcity and quality.

CAC has approved 49 in this grade with 12 finer.
