AFFORDABLE COLLECTOR GRADE 1871-CC HALF EAGLE
The 1871-CC is the second half eagle from the Carson City mint. It is among the more obtainable issues from the early years of this facility but it is not an easy issue to find in collector grades with choice original surfaces.
This well-worn example is perfect for the grade with all details fully legible and very pleasing caramel-gold hues which are deeper on the obverse than on the reverse.
The last VG10 1871-CC half eagle to sell at auction w as a non-CAC NGC piece which sold for $1,763 in June 2014.
An affordable but historic early CC half eagle with oodles of character.
CAC has approved two in this grade with eight finer.
