POPULAR COLLECTOR GRADE CIVIL WAR ISSUE 1861-S QUARTER EAGLE

As a result of its comparatively high mintage of 24,00, the 1861-S is more available than the 1862-S and 1863-S quarter eagles. But it is still a scarce and undervalued date.

This is a lustrous reddish-gold example with good eye appeal for the grade.

Since 1996, there has been just a single PCGS EF45 example of this date sold at auction.

CAC has approved two in EF45 with another eight finer.
