The 1899 is a much scarcer date in Superb Gem Uncirculated than any of the 1900-1907 issues of this type.
This glowing rose-gold Gem would likely have graded MS68 were it not for a small mint-made streak on the reverse below the AM in AMERICA.
Only two PCGS MS67 1899 quarter eagles have sold at auction since 2024, with Heritage 2025 ANA coin at $7,861 representing the finer of the pair. The sole PCGS MS68 brought $17,400 back in 2020.
A nice ultra-high grade Liberty Head quarter eagle and perfect for type purposes.
