UNDERRATED 1841 EAGLE IN NGC AU58
As with its counterpart the 1841 half eagle, the 1841 eagle is scarce in AU58 and quite rare in Uncirculated with likely no more four or five in Uncirculated.
Like most examples of this date, this basically unworn but roughly handled piece has abundant marks over frosty surfaces.
Unlike most examples of this date, this coin has natural dusky russet color which is well above-average for the issue.
Heritage sold a similar but seemingly more abraded 1841 $10 in NGC58 for a low $4,080 in their 2024 ANA auction.
