AFFORDABLE PCGS/CAC AU50 1851-C GOLD DOLLAR
The 1851-C dollar is the single most common coin of any of the three denominations struck at this mint. It is the only issue for which you can still buy a very presentable AU example for less than $3,000.
In my opinion, this coin is at least an AU53 as it is very lustrous with sharp definition on both sides.
Surprisingly, no CAC approved AU50 examples of this date have sold at auction since early 2020.
CAC has approved 5 in this grade with 55 finer.
