As with many P mint $20s of this era, the 1897 is an issue which is common up through MS64 but very rare as a Gem. Only 10 have been graded MS65 with none finer, and if available, a solid PCGS MS65 will run close to $20,000.
For a lot less money, you can own this borderline Gem with just a few too many scuffs on the cheek of Liberty to grade higher.
Surprisingly, there was just a single PCGS MS64 example of this date sold at auction in 2023; it brought $3,840.
