The 1879-S is readily available in MS61, and I find it to be an overpriced date in MS62. Properly graded MS63s are quite rare, and I am aware of a single coin finer; a PCGS MS64 that sold or $63,250 back in 2007.
This yellow-gold example is somewhat scuffy in the left obverse field; hence its MS61 grade.
