The 1837 is a scarcer date amongst the limited production run from Philadelphia which featured the Classic Head design.
This coin has the luster and body of an AU55 but it has been properly net graded to a 53 due to some marks on the obverse and the reverse. The coin is 100% natural in appearance with very pleasing apricot-gold color.
This is the only PCGS/CAC AU53 1837 half eagle to sell at auction since July 2019.
