VERY CHOICE PCGS/CAC EF40 1839-C $2.50

As many as 400 examples of this issue are known, but the 1839-C quarter eagle is surprisingly hard to locate with rich natural color and uncleaned, vibrant surfaces.

This is certainly in he top 5% of the surviving EF40 to EF45 1839-C quarter eagles and it presents beautifully for a branch mint Classic Head quarter eagle with deep, unadulterated russet and olive-gold color that rests on problem-free surfaces. A natural patch of deep reddish color can be seen at around 5:00 on the reverse. A non-CAC PCGS EF40 brought $6,600 in 5/2023. The most recent APR for this date in PCGS/CAC EF45 was Heritage 10/2022: 25899 at $7,500. The coin I am offering here is considerably more attractive, in my informed opinion.

You wont see a nicer 1839-C quarter eagle than this one at under $10,000.

CAC has approved three in this grade with a dozen finer.
