This coin is 100% for certain a Bro Jo example and, in fact, it formerly resided in an NGC MS65 holder.
Amazing quality for a Civil War era coin of this size and very lustrous with some underlying matte surface noted. A small, arcing mark on the reverse bisects the mintmark and it is likely the reason why his coin is “only” an MS64 and not a 65.
Heritage 5/2024: 4609, also in PCGS/CAC MS64, sold for $25,200.
CAC has approved 37 in this grade with just five finer.
