The 1893-CC is a numismatically significant issue as it is the final eagle ever struck at the Carson City mint. It is far and away the scarcest of the four eagles made at this facility.
This orange-gold example seems very conservatively graded as it is clean and very lustrous. In my opinion, it is a solid AU53 and I wouldn’t hate this coin if it were in a 55 holder.
Just one PCGS/CAC AU0 1893-CC eagle has sold at auction in the last decade and it was an OGH that I gradedAU55/58; it brought a strong $10,500 in April 2022.
CAC has approved six in this grade with 47 finer.
