Just two Charlotte gold dollars were struck with the Type Three design; the 1857-C and the 1859-C. The 1857-C is scarcer in terms of overall rarity and it is a really scarce issue in properly graded AU55 to AU58. I have never seen an 1857-C gold dollar that I believed was an unequivocal Mint State coin.
This is a solid AU53 coin which has been net graded due to the presence of some light marks on the left side of the obverse.
A good value at under $5k.
