PCGS/CAC VF35 1876-S HALF EAGLE
Due to its small mintage of just 5,000 coins, the 1876-S is the best-known of the numerous With Motto SF half eagles. It is scarce in all grades.
I grade this coin a solid EF40 but it has been conservatively accorded a VF35 grade by PCGS. It is original with medium russet colors seen on both sides.
No CAC approved VF35 has ever sold at auction. In January 2024, Heritage sold a PCGS/CAC for $11,400.
CAC has approved this single coin in VF35 with just six finer.
