CHOICE EF 1884-CC DOUBLE EAGLE WITH CAC APPROVAL

The 1884-CC is among the more available Type Three double eagles from the Carson City mint which makes it ideal for type purposes. Extremely Fine pieces with original color and choice surfaces are seen infrequently.

This fresh-to-the-market example comes from Europe where it lay undisturbed for many decades after seeing hard use in Western American commerce. It is a textbook "Choice EF" with deepnatural russet color and very clean surfaces.

A twin to this coin, also graded EF45 by PCGS and approved by CAC, recently brought $3,525 as Heritage 1/17: 7168.

This is an uncommonly cosmetic CC double eagle at an affordable price.

CAC has approved 13 in this grade with 136 finer.
