AFFORDABLE PCGS EF40 1877-CC DOUBLE EAGLE

This is a numismatically significant issue as it is the first Type Three issue from the Carson City mint. The 1877-CC is not often seen in collector grades and even less often with choice surfaces and natural color.

The detail seen on this example is sharper than one might expect for the grade and the surfaces are lightly marked with pleasing natural color seen on both the obverse and the reverse.

The most recent APR for a CAC approved PCGS EF40 1877-CC double eagle is Heritage 10/16: 4695 which sold abit cheaply at $3,547.

It has become hard to locate a visually pleasing 1877-CC double eagle for less than $5,000 in today's market.

CAC has approved 6 in this grade with 56 finer.
