Briggs 1-A

In my opinion, few series offer the collector as much value as high grade No Motto Seated Liberty quarters and true Gems of virtually all dates are very rare and very undervalued. The 1844-O is hard to locate in the lower Uncirculated grades and it is exceedingly rare in Gem with just two known.

This stunning example shows full luster and is very well struck with nearly full head detail on Liberty and boldly defined feathers. The luster is frosty and sparkles below soft russet toning which is most pronounced at the borders. There are almost no marks in the fields and the eye appeal is exceptional.

With the exception of this coin, no MS65 1844-O quarter has ever sold at auction.

If this coin was nice enough for the great Gene Gardner collection, it is certainly nice enough for yours. A remarkable No Motto New Orleans quarter.

CAC has approved this one coin in MS65 with none finer.

Ex Heritage 6/14: 30364 where it realized $12,925, formerly in the famous Gene Gardner collection.
