VERY SCARCE 1876-CC HALF EAGLE

Most collectors do not realize this but the 1876-CC has the lowest mintage figure of any half eagle from this mint with just 6,887 struck. Under 100 exist today and this date is not often seen in affordable collector grades.

This choice, evenly worn example displays natural orange and green-gold color with some dappled pastel undertones. The surfaces are very clean save for a patch of old, well-hidden hairlines at the final star. The overall eye appeal is excellent.

No PCGS EF40 has ever sold at auction and just three NGC EF40's (none since 2011) have sold since late 2003. The last PCGS EF45 to sell at auction brought $5,175 all the way back in January 2010.

This date is almost never seen in this grade/price range and in the lower AU range, an 1876-CC is a five-figure purchase.
