CHOICE AU 1807 BUST RIGHT HALF EAGLE WITH CAC APPROVAL

BD-4, R-4+. Large Reverse Stars.

The 1807 is a transitional issue with half eagle struck using the old Bust Right design and the new Bust Left design. The 1807 Bust Right is among the more available issues of this type and hundreds exist in all grades but only a small percentage are choice.

This uncleaned example has a natural appearance with pleasing reddish-gold color in the obverse fields and deep green-gold changing to medium red on the reverse. There is ample luster present and the surfaces are choice with just a few tiny scuffs seen in the obverse fields.

No PCGS AU55 1807 BR half eagle has sold at auction since October 2015 (and only one other since 2012) and that non-CAC piece realized $10,575.

A perfect type coin for the collector who is new to early half eagles.

CAC has approved 10 in this grade with 35 finer.
