CHOICE EF 1883-CC HALF EAGLE WITH CAC APPROVAL

The 1883-CC is comparable in rarity to the 1884-CC half eagle. Both dates are not often seen above EF45 to AU50 and when available in collector grades, the typical 1883-CC is bright and unappealing.

This is an outstanding coin for the grade with excellent detail, choice surfaces and natural rich russet and subtle rose color. Some dirt in the recesses adds to the natural appearance.

Only one PCGS EF45 1883-CC half eagle has been sold at auction since early 2011 and it sold for $3,290 as Heritage 3/16: 4481. That coin was not CAC approved nor was it nearly as nice as the present example.

A really pleasing 1883-CC half eagle and very good value at less than $4,000.

CAC has approved just this one coin in EF45 with 13 finer.

Ex Heritage 2011 FUN: 6442 where it realized $3,738.
