GEM SLIDER 1810 HALF EAGLE WITH CAC APPROVAL

BD-1, R-3+. Small Date, Tall 5.

There are no less than four distinct varieties of 1810 half eagle, two of which are very rare. The two common varieties are BD-1 (Small Date/Tall 5) and BD-4 (Large Date/Large 5) of which the former is slightly less available.

This example represents excellent quality for the grade. It shows very sharp details at the centers and borders and just the slightest amount of friction on the high spots. The color is a natural medium yellow-gold while a significant amount of luster can be seen on both sides.

No AU58 examples of this variety have crossed the auction block since Heritage 9/14: 3405 and this coin, not approved by CAC, realized $12,925.

This coin is perfect for the type collector seeking a single choice Capped Bust Left half eagle or for the specialist who collects this series by date and/or variety.

CAC has approved four in this grade with 15 finer.
