CAC/PCGS MS63 1844 HALF DOLLAR

Despite a mintage of 1.766 million, the 1844 half dollar is scarce in properly graded MS63 and rare finer. This is true of all No Motto half dollars and I feel this series presents the savvy collector with excellent opportunities to purchase genuinely scarce coin in nice Uncirculated in the $2,000-4,000+ range.

This sharp, frosty example shows light natural grey-gold color and it is lightly abraded with marks consistent to the assigned grade.

The only PCGS MS63 to sell at auction since 2013 is a non-CAC coin given a "plus" grade by PCGS which realized $2,115 as Heritage 6/15: 4501. The colorful Newman II: 33702 example sold for $3,525 in November 2013 and it was not approved by CAC.

CAC has approved four in this grade with four finer.
